This program is designed to prepare students for employment as industrial electricians, instrument mechanics, process control technicians, operators, equipment installers, or construction electricians, and to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these areas.

The course content includes: electrical construction, national electrical code, motors and control, power generation, and distribution, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation devices, process control operations and configuration, supervisory computer control, and maintenance and repair of a variety of systems found in industrial operations including motor drives, pneumatic control systems, hydraulic control systems, computer based control systems and instrumentation. Typically, a student may expect to complete this program in 1800 hours. The program carries strong industry support, and full-time students have the opportunity to apply for three-month cooperative training periods that alternate with three-month classroom training experiences. Students must be 16 years of age in order to be admitted to the program.  Students who do not meet the minimum grade levels for this program (Reading: 10.0, Math: 10.0, Language: 10.0)will be required to enroll in the Vocational Preparatory Instruction Lab in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.
