The Business Technology Department at TTI currently offer three courses for students to choose from that include: Administrative Assistant, Accounting Operations, and Medical Administrative Specialist. While all programs are self-paced, all post-secondary students will begin their respective program with an Introduction to Information Technology course. This course is designed to give students an opportunity to explore the world of technology. Projects include taking computers apart and learning about the different components that make up a computer, basic Web page design where students can create their own personal Web pages, as well as many other topics. This course is not self-paced, so it includes scheduled class discussions on course material and hands-on group projects.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT COURSE CONTENT

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as Information Technology Assistant, Clerical Support/Secretary, Assistant Digital Production Designer, and a Administrative Assistant and to provide supplemental training for person previously or currently employed in any of these occupations. This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills expanding the traditional role of the Administrative Assistant. The content includes the use of technology to develop communications skills, higher level thinking skills, and decision making skills; the performance of office procedures tasks; the production of quality work in an efficient manner using advanced features of business software applications; research of job opportunities; and the production of high quality employment portfolios and job-seeking documents. Typically, a student may expect to complete this program in 1050 hours. Students who do not meet the minimum grade levels for this program (Reading: 10.0, Math: 10.0, Language: 10.0) will be required to enroll in the Technical Resource Center in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.
MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST COURSE CONTENT

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as Information Technology Assistant, Front Desk Specialist, Medical Office Technologist, and a Medical Administrative Specialist and to provide supplement training for person previously or currently employed in any of these occupations. This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills expanding the traditional role of the Medical Secretary. The content includes the use of technology to develop communications skills, higher level thinking skills, and decision making skills; the performance of office procedures specific to the medical environment; the production of quality work in an efficient manner using advanced features of business software applications; research of job opportunities; and the production of high quality employment portfolios and job-seeking documents. Typically, a student may expect to complete this program in 1050 hours. Students who do not meet the minimum grade levels for this program (Reading: 10.0, Math: 10.0, Language: 10.0) will be required to enroll in the Technical Resource Center in order to receive a certificate of completion.
