Applied Welding Technology

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as welders, cutters, or combination welders, and to provide supplement training for person previously or currently employed in any of these occupations.  The content includes, but is not limited to, communication skills, leadership skills, human relations and employability skills, safe and efficient work practices, use of blueprints and shop drawing, use of gases, welding processes, and proper brazing of parts according to diagrams, blueprints or written specifications. Typically, a secondary student may expect to complete this program in 1200 hours. And a Postsecondary student will complete it in 1170 hours.  Students who do not meet the minimum grade levels for this program (Reading: 9.0, Math: 9.0, Language: 9.0)will be required to enroll in the Vocational Preparatory Instruction lab in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.
